The Pittsburgh Steelers have certainly swung for the fences this offseason, signing Aaron Rodgers to play quarterback and landing stars like wide receiver D.K. Metcalf and cornerback Jalen Ramsey in blockbuster trades.
In spite of how good the Steelers look on paper, there are serious questions surrounding them due in part to their age, and there is no one on the team more experienced than the 41-year-old Rodgers.

Many have wondered exactly how Rodgers will fit in, not just from a “how much does he have left” perspective, but also in terms of the locker room.
However, his new Pittsburgh teammates have made it very clear that they genuinely appreciate — and enjoy — Rodgers’ presence, and Ramsey himself offered some candid comments on the future Hall of Famer.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for him, seeing how he operates on the field during practices,” Ramsey said, via Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com. “He’s kind of one of the guys, and at times you wouldn’t expect that from a quarterback. They can kind of be locked into their own zone, but he does make sure that he’s connected with all the guys.”

The Steelers landed Ramsey in a wild trade back in June, sending safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for the seven-time Pro Bowler.
Like Rodgers, Ramsey is also on the downside of his career, as last year represented the first time the 30-year-old missed the Pro Bowl since his rookie campaign back in 2016. However, Ramsey remains a terrific player and should absolutely bolster a Pittsburgh secondary that needed help at corner.

Meanwhile, talks of Rodgers’ demise may be greatly exaggerated. In spite of all of the criticism he absorbed with the New York Jets last season, Rodgers still managed to throw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Prime A-Rod? No, but certainly not “cooked,” either.
We’ll see if Rodgers can lead the Steelers back to playoff relevance this season.
