The Cincinnati Bengals made a few moves over the past few days, highlighted by the addition of free-agent guard Dalton Risner. But down the list features a player that could provide some good upside for the Bengals on the bookend of their line.

The Bengals added former Jaguars offensive tackle Javon Foster to their practice squad. Foster played in four games last season as a rookie for Jacksonville. He was taken in the fourth round, No. 114 overall out of Missouri.

Entering the 2024 draft, Foster generated some buzz as a player that can develop into a very effective tackle. He comes with very good size for the position (6’5 1/2”, 313 pounds and 34 5/8-inch arms).

Foster was a three-year starter at left tackle for Missouri, was named Third-Team All-American by the Associated Press and First-Team All-SEC.

His arms allow him to generate plenty of power in the run game and he has strong athleticism for the position. He stands to benefit from more development on his footwork. Once that comes along, he’s well on his way to becoming a very worthwhile addition.

He’ll have the opportunity to learn and develop in Cincinnati without the pressure of having to be thrust into games anytime soon. If he grows this season as a player, he’s a name to watch for in 2026, if not later this season.
