We are just a week away from the start of the 2025 NFL season. The Broncos will kick things off against the Titans. Let’s spend some time looking at what the Broncos are up against.
The Titans will start Cam Ward in his first NFL regular-season game at Denver. The rough thing for the Broncos is that they are facing a quarterback with very little in the way of homework to use in preparation.
In looking at the draft this year, I did peek at Cam Ward, and his skills as a quarterback are very legit. He can throw to all levels of the field and can run if needed.
The key to keeping things on track for the orange and blue will be to stop the Titans’ running game. They averaged over 4 yards per carry last season, led by Tony Pollard.
Don’t snooze on the Titans’ defense
The Titans had a horrible season, but one thing people miss is that their defense knows how to defend the pass. They gave up the 3rd fewest passing yards last season.
To be fair, that could be related to the fact that they didn’t have a ton of success stopping the run. They gave up 4.5 yards per carry against the run.
Look out for free safety Amani Hooker. He had 5 interceptions last year and is a big reason the Titans’ defense was so good against the pass.
