On August23,2025, former Denver Broncos linebacker and two-time Super Bowl champion Glenn Cadrez witnessed a devastating crash near Temecula, California.

As he was leaving his son’s youth football game, Cadrez narrowly avoided a head-on collision. Soon, he turned to find a car nearby totally engulfed in flames. Without doing much thought, he pulled a 25-year-old man from the burning wreck, an act he just would have described as nothing more than “common decency.”

“By the time I turned around, the car was engulfed in flames,” Cadrez told TMZ. “I mean, biggest reddest flames, dark black smoke.”

Sadly, the crash would claim the lives of four people, including two teenagers. The weight of the tragedy would soon hit Cadrez especially hard, causing him to reflect on his kids.

“The four deaths — I didn’t even know, and at the time when I was pulling him out, I thought there were no casualties. I thought it was just an injury with him and the other guy,” Cadrez told the Houston Chronicle. “So it kinda hit a little harder the next day, and I hope he is okay. I have two kids, so it really kinda hit home for me, and I squeezed my kids a little tighter last night.”

Cadrez was in the right place at the right time and acted as a hero. He played for the Broncos from 1995-2000, helping the team win Super Bowls XXXII and XXXIII.
