It is as though the Green Bay Packers could sense the Chicago Bears and Caleb Williams are on the cusp of building something special. The Packers traded for elite pass rusher Micah Parsons. The worst part of this is Parsons could finish his career in Green Bay haunting the Bears for the next 10 years.

It isn’t Clay Matthews anymore in Green Bay, making plays every week. It will now be Micah Parsons, who is on a Hall of Fame trajectory. This is a bad season for the Bears to have concerns about their left tackle; their biggest rival now has Rashan Gary and Micah Parsons off both edges.

Alyssa Barbieri with Bears Wire provides a breakdown on the league altering trade for Caleb Williams and the Bears’ rival:

“The Dallas Cowboys have traded defensive superstar Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, according to NFL insiders. Now, the Chicago Bears will have to contend with one of the league’s best defenders twice a season — and he went to their most hated rival. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Parsons and the Packers agreed to a four-year, $188 million contract, which includes $120 million guaranteed at signing. Green Bay is sending two first-round picks and nose tackle Kenny Clark to Dallas in the trade, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Parsons is a four-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-Pro, former Defensive Rookie of the Year who’s amassed 52.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries in his four years with Dallas.”

If the NFC North was not already a division that fielded three playoff teams last year, this division now has two Super Bowl contenders the Bears have to compete with. This must be what the NFC North thought about the Bears trading for Khalil Mack in 2018, only this time the Packers have an elite offense instead of just a good one.

This might be a nightmare situation in Chicago. The Bears still have Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams; if those two can pan out as a duo, the Bears should be able to beat teams such as the Packers and the Eagles. However, the margin for error is now so much smaller. It will take Caleb and Ben Johnson being at their best to unseat the new favorite, the Green Bay Packers, in the NFC North.
