This week, Chiefs Wire’s Ed Easton Jr. spoke to Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson about the team’s high expectations going into the new season after highly contested matchups against the Kansas City Chiefs and other postseason teams last year.

“Yeah, I think the best thing for us, and that’s been going for us, is not bringing that in the building. There are so many expectations, but we don’t talk about them,” said Robinson. “We put our heads down, work, and have fun doing it. Because that’s the most important thing for us, people can say that we have all the talent in the world, but if you don’t put it together, or if you’re not coming together as a team, like, it doesn’t matter, like the NFL team will come in and beat you week to week by doing that.”

Robinson and the Falcons hosted the Chiefs for their Sunday Night Football matchup last season in Week 3. Robinson scored a short-yardage rushing touchdown, but Atlanta fell short 22-17. However, at night’s end, there was a special jersey swap with former Texas Longhorns teammate Xavier Worthy.

“We know that we have to rise to the challenge. But I think we love that. We want that,” said Robinson, “We have a lot of talent, but now it’s time to just put that together one week at a time, so we can get as many wins as possible. Finish the season the right way and then start that next journey the right way as well. That’s what we’re trying to do, man, and we’re taking it every single day to take it one day at a time, get better one day at a time. If we do everything right, everything will look great for us.”

College Colors Day is a national celebration encouraging fans, students, and alumni to show their school pride by wearing their university’s colors and apparel to mark the beginning of the college sports season.
