The countdown to Week 1 in Brazil is underway for the Kansas City Chiefs as they hit the practice field for a few days before boarding their flight.

Chiefs defensive back Trent McDuffie addressed reporters before Sunday’s practice to share his thoughts on the upcoming battle with Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey.

“So we really don’t have film on him on one game that we played him (Ladd McConkey), but from the things that I’ve seen, I really like how he plays.” said McDuffie, “His space, separation out of the breaks, really good routes, and you can just tell his timing with Justin Herbert over the course of the year got better and better. He’s a really good receiver, and I think he’s going to be a really good challenge for us on the back end to go out there and see what we’re about.”

McConkey was impressive in his rookie year with 82 receptions for 1,149 yards and seven touchdowns, the most by a rookie in Chargers history. He only faced the Chiefs in Week 4, finishing the game with five catches for 67 yards and a touchdown.

McDuffie was a first-team All-Pro in 2023 and a second-team selection in 2024. He debuted on the annual NFL Top 100 countdown at No. 81 this offseason, showing increased respect from around the league.
