The Los Angeles Rams are one of the most interesting and intriguing teams in the 2026 NFL Draft for the simple fact that they have two first-round picks and a potential need at quarterback. The same can be said about the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys, but the Rams are both a Super Bowl contender and a candidate to make a big swing in next year’s draft.
General manager Les Snead is already doing his due diligence on the 2026 class, attending the Virginia Tech-South Carolina game on Sunday. There are several prospects he could have been scouting, but one player stands out as a potential target for the Rams: South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers.
He’s a Heisman contender and a candidate to go as early as No. 1 overall in the draft, someone the Rams could consider drafting if given the opportunity. He’s a true dual-threat quarterback with impressive athleticism and a great arm.

In the Gamecocks’ 24-11 win over the Hokies on Sunday, Sellers completed 12 of 19 passes for 201 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 25 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. And that rushing total includes yards lost from the four sacks he took.
The Rams have only had pocket quarterbacks as their starters under Sean McVay but there’s reason to believe they could target a mobile passer as their next franchise signal caller. Les Snead hinted at wanting a mobile quarterback last fall when he said this to J.B. Long.
“Our cheat code could be a quarterback that could become a sixth eligible and extend plays,” he said. “Defenses are designed to cover this thing for 3 seconds, next thing you know, they’re at 6 seconds going, ‘Oh jeez.’”
McVay has targeted mobile quarterbacks as his backups over the years, including Blake Bortles, Bryce Perkins, Carson Wentz and even Stetson Bennett. Sellers is a terrific athlete and could expand the Rams offense, which makes him such an enticing prospect – especially for a team with McVay as its head coach.

There’s no telling who Snead was watching or if he was just getting a general sense of both teams, but it’s hard to ignore the presence of Sellers as a possible target.
