If there was a feel-good area story in the first week, look no further than San Marcos’ 40-27 win over Hutto. The Rattlers, who have gone 0-10 each of the last two years, could be a surprise team in 2025.

3. Pflugerville (1-0): Held Leander scoreless in the second half in a 21-14 win

4. Rouse (1-0): Raiders have scored 118 points vs. Connally the last two years

5. Hays (1-0): The 43-13 win over Elgin highlighted by a 26-point first quarter

1. Lampasas (1-0): Blasted Fredericksburg 52-14 behind a 31-point second quarter

2. Wimberley (1-0): Rallied from a 28-point fourth-quarter deficit to edge Canyon Lake 36-35

3. LBJ (1-0): Jags rushed for 352 yards in a 46-13 opening win over S.A. Sam Houston

4. Thorndale (1-0): Beat neighboring rival Thrall 31-3 to avenge last year’s 21-point loss

5. Regents (1-0): Knights have put up 106 total points in back-to-back opening wins vs. Lorena
