The Las Vegas Raiders are heading into the 2025 NFL campaign with plenty of questions on offense, and perhaps none are more prominent than the state of their receiving corps.
Yes, the Raiders made multiple additions to their wide receiver room this offseason. They selected Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton in the draft, and most recently, they reunited with Amari Cooper.

However, Bech and Thornton are entirely unproven, and Cooper showed significant signs of decline last year, which was why he was available so late into the summer to begin with.
Beyond Jakobi Meyers, Las Vegas is faced with substantial uncertainty at the position, but Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic feels that the Raiders may have a diamond in the rough: Tre Tucker.
In a piece where Rodrigue listed one under-the-radar potential future star for every NFL team, he singled out Tucker for the Silver and Black.

“Tucker was a third-round pick in 2023 out of Cincinnati and could be a top beneficiary of the Raiders’ offseason additions of quarterback Geno Smith and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly,” Rodrigue wrote. “Tucker is small — just 5-foot-8 and 182 pounds — but separates well and has plenty of speed. He had 47 catches for 539 yards in 2024, but now that he’s paired with Smith and Kelly, this season could be his breakout.”
Tucker didn’t make much of an impact during his rookie campaign, logging 19 catches for 331 yards and a couple of touchdowns in 2023. However, as Rodrigue noted, he displayed some flashes last season, and with a better quarterback situation now in Las Vegas, perhaps he can take another step forward in 2025.

The Raiders must have quite a bit of confidence in Tucker as well, given how they largely neglected to add proven talent at wide receiver over the last several months (either that, or no one really wanted to go to Vegas).
Whether or not Tucker actually breaks out this fall is anyone’s guess, but it would certainly pay massive dividends for Pete Carroll and the Raiders.
