Rams HC Sean McVay confirmed Monday that QB Matt Stafford (back) is set to start this weekend’s opener vs. the Texans. Stafford is expected to be a full participant in practice this week.

It was a rocky summer for Stafford, who missed the first half of August with an aggravated disc in his back. He’s been back on the field for a couple of weeks now, though, and the back has seemingly responded well.
Now we’ll see how he holds up when he takes a hit vs. Houston. Stafford would be a risky Week 1 fantasy play even in superflex leagues.
His availability at least means that WRs Puka Nacua and Davante Adams should be in Week 1 lineups.
