The Indianapolis Colts made a pair of practice squad moves official on Monday.

As had been reported a few days ago, the Colts announced that they had signed linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. to the practice squad.

With the practice squad at full capacity, a corresponding cut had to be made in order to make room for Walker. This included the Colts moving on from defensive tackle Josh Tupou.

The Colts signed Tupou once training camp had already started. Having been in the NFL since 2017 and played 1,756 career snaps, Tupou added another veteran presence to the defensive tackle position. He was also familiar with Lou Anarumo’s defense, having spent time in Cincinnati.

Walker was a fifth-round draft pick by the Colts in 2017 and played his first four seasons with the team, which includes making 48 starts.

Since leaving Indianapolis after the 2020 season, Walker spent four seasons in Cleveland, the 2024 season in Miami, and this offseason with Tampa Bay.

Linebacker remains a big unknown for the Colts and a position where they are relatively inexperienced. Walker provides another veteran presence that the Colts can lean on at any point.
