NY Giants training camp 2025 practice highlights from the sidelines
See and hear New York Giants players in highlights during training camp practices from the sideline in East Rutherford.
EAST RUTHERFORD – The New York Giants will open their 2025 regular season at the Washington Commanders on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m.
Most betting institutions place the Giants between 5 and 6 wins, which would be on paper a better finish than last season, but they are projected to face an uphill battle to be in contention for the NFL’s postseason, let alone qualify for the first time since 2022.
In order to exceed expectations, the Giants need to get far greater play from the quarterback position – whether that’s Russell Wilson, Jaxson Dart or Jameis Winston, the offensive line to stay healthy and produce and the overall run defense must perform at a league-average level in order to allow a fierce pass rush to attack opponents and reach its potential.

Here are some bold predictions for 2025:
Abdul Carter will set NFL rookie record for sacks
Jevon Kearse holds the rookie record for sacks with 14.5 during the 1999 season. The Giants’ No. 3 overall pick is going to break that mark this season. Carter will finish with 15 sacks as a rookie, winning the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year award and earning a Pro Bowl nod.
Azeez Ojulari holds the current Giants’ rookie record with 8.
Split decisions: Giants make strides in NFC East
To make headway in their quest for respectability, the Giants have to prove they won’t be pushed around in the division first. Says here that Big Blue will pick up a victory against each of the three NFC East rivals that finished ahead of them in the 2024 standings. That’ll come after being swept by the division a year ago in their 3-win campaign.
Pick 6 for Paulson Adebo
The Giants had just five interceptions as a team last season, second-fewest in the NFL.
Adebo is going to beat that total by himself, notching six picks in his first season with the Giants. That would be the most interceptions by a Giant since 2016 when Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie had 6.
Malik Nabers will set NFL target record, earn All-Pro honors
In 2002, Marvin Harrison set the record for most targets in a season with 202. Malik Nabers was targeted 170 times as a rookie by four different quarterbacks, and that was in 15 games. Expect Nabers to blow through that ceiling this season and approach Victor Cruz’s record for most receiving yards in a season (1,536 yards in 2011). The All-Pro team will have an all-LSU flavor this season with Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson and Nabers leading the way.
Jaxson Dart will start eight games as a rookie
Much like Tom Coughlin did with Eli Manning in 2004, there will be a point this season when Brian Daboll goes to Dart with the best interests of the Giants in mind. That does not necessarily mean Russell Wilson will play poorly, either. He could just get Kurt Warner’d. And the ultimate circle back to that ’04 season will be Dart leading the Giants to a victory over the Cowboys in their season finale, setting the stage for greater expectations in 2026.
Brian Daboll, Joe Schoen earn contract extensions
Forget the hot seat talk: we’re going to find out after the 2025 season that Giants ownership worked out contract extensions for head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen during the season, refusing to allow their fourth campaign to end and leaving the two in limbo. That’ll be the biggest sign yet that the Giants believe they have turned the corner and that there are better days ahead.
