LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A UNLV football star is headed for the Lone Star State.
The Houston Texans announced Wednesday they have claimed linebacker Jackson Woodard off waivers.
Woodard signed as an undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks following the NFL Draft.
Seattle released him on Tuesday following their rookie minicamp this past weekend.
The reigning Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year, Woodard became UNLV’s first-ever finalist for the NFF James Campbell Trophy, also known as the Academic Heisman.
For the 2024 season, he had 135 combined tackles, 17 of which went for a loss, 3.5 sacks and four interceptions.
