The Kansas City Chiefs dealt with injuries throughout the preseason and will enter their Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers with eight players on their injury report.

Five players — wide receiver Jalen Royals, linebacker Jack Cochrane, cornerback Kristian Fulton, offensive lineman Jawaan Taylor, and tight end Jared Wiley — are said to be dealing with knee injuries. Defensive lineman Omarr Norman-Lott and wide receiver Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown are listed with ankle injuries. Veteran linebacker Drue Tranquill has a back injury.

Royals was the only Chiefs player who was held out of practice on Tuesday. Norman-Lott was a limited participant in Kansas City’s latest workouts:

Though the Chiefs didn’t indicate any of the players’ game status, it seems likely that rookies Jalen Royals and Omarr Norman-Lott may be held out of Friday’s contest against Los Angeles, given that their injuries kept them from full participation in Kansas City’s practice sessions.
