Over the years since being a bust first-round pick for the Cleveland Browns, quarterback Johnny Manziel has continuously made headlines by talking down on the franchise. In his latest act, he joined the Nightcap podcast with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and Shannon Sharpe to take another dig at the Browns:
“I go back and forth with, do I let Cleveland off the hook or do I sit here with hate and animosity for the rest of my life? And I decided I’m going to hate them forever,” said Manziel.

“No love for the Browns. I’m rooting for 0-16 every season.”
During his time with the Browns, the former Heisman winner quickly earned a reputation for frequent off-field partying, a lack of commitment in meetings and practices, and more. His disastrous stint ended his Cleveland and NFL career with a 2-6 record as a starting quarterback and only seven games with passing touchdowns with seven interceptions. Despite the Browns being the apparent problem, Manziel never received another NFL opportunity due to his attitude and poor performance.
There’s even the story of Manziel wearing a disguise to visit Las Vegas while in the concussion protocol, causing him to miss a Sunday morning check-in with the team’s medical staff. Throughout his time in Cleveland, he showed nothing but irresponsibility and a lack of dedication to making it in the NFL. He’s said this multiple times
Manziel also displayed his current lack of knowledge of the NFL in this clip, saying he wants the Browns “to go 0-16 every year,” even though they play 17 games in 2025. His hate is also odd considering he once texted the Browns’ staff to “hurry up and draft me” during his 2014 NFL Draft slide. This latest media stunt is just another example of Manziel failing to take responsibility for his own poor decisions during his time as a Cleveland Brown.
