Atlanta releases first official depth chart of 2025 NFL season.

The Atlanta Falcons have released their Week 1 depth chart ahead of this Sunday’s season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rookies Xavier Watts and Billy Bowman Jr. will start on the first-team defense, while first-round picks Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. were listed as reserves.

Arnold Ebiketie and Leonard Floyd will enter the season as the team’s starting edge rushers. This isn’t a surprise, and we still expect both Pearce and Walker to contribute significantly regardless of their standing on the depth chart. David Onyemata and Brandon Dorlus will start on the interior of Atlanta’s defensive line.

Former second-round pick Ruke Orhorhoro was listed as Dorlus’ backup, which was a bit of a surprise. Many expected Orhorhoro to start based on his draft status and the team’s previous depth charts.

As expected, Elijah Wilkinson was listed as the starting right tackle in place of Kaleb McGary. Michael Jerrell will serve as the backup to left tackle Jake Matthews. Atlanta sent a seventh-round pick to Seattle for Jerrell after McGary and Storm Norton were placed on IR, but the team went with rookie Jack Nelson as the primary backup at right tackle.

Veteran Dee Alford has been moved over from nickel to outside corner as A.J. Terrell’s backup. Natrone Brooks will serve as the No. 2 nickel behind Bowman. Jordan Fuller will back up Watts, while former seventh-round pick DeMarcco Hellams was listed as the backup to Pro Bowl safety Jessie Bates III.

Offensively, there aren’t any major surprises. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is set to lead the unit with Bijan Robinson and Drake London playing strong supporting roles. Check out the team’s depth chart for Sunday’s NFC South showdown below.
