Meet the NY Jets’ 2025 NFL Draft class, player-by-player

Who did the Jets pick in the 2025 NFL Draft? Check out the entire class, pick by pick.

The biggest QB revenge game in Week 1 of the NFL season comes in East Rutherford when Justin Fields and the Jets host Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. at MetLife Stadium.

Rodgers notably left the Jets after two seasons when he chose the Steelers in free agency to be their new starting QB for his 21st and final season earlier this summer.

With Rodgers already having one foot out the door earlier this spring, the Jets signed free agent Justin Fields — who started the first six games at QB for the Steelers last season — this past offseason to be the new signal caller for Gang Green.

Now these two QBs and teams meet to open the 2025 season in the Meadowlands as one of the must-see games in the eight-game early slate.

Can Fields and the Jets play spoiler at home against their former QB in Week 1, or will Rodgers and the Steelers emerge victorious in his revenge spot at MetLife?

Our prognosticators throughout the 2025 season are: Art Stapleton (Giants/NFL writer, NorthJersey.com), Bert Bainbridge (sports trending reporter/columnist, NorthJersey.com), Steve Edelson (columnist, APP.com), Brian Marron (digital producer, NorthJersey.com), Chris Iseman (Rutgers writer, NorthJersey.com), Bob Jordan (sports editor, Asbury Park Press/APP.com) and Dave Rivera (sports editor, USA TODAY Northeast/NorthJersey.com).

With the 2025 season right around the corner, here are our staff predictions for Week 1 between the Jets and Steelers:

Art Stapleton

The pick: Steelers 27, Jets 17

Here’s why: Revenge is a dish best served cold, or so they say, and you can bet Aaron Rodgers will be looking to make the Jets remember that meeting when they told them he wasn’t wanted.

Bert Bainbridge

The pick: Steelers 20, Jets 13

Here’s why: This game has low scoring written all over it with two defense that should be among the league’s best and offenses with new signal callers in 2025. Jets-Steelers is the lowest total of any Week 1 game as it’s the only matchup with an over/under below 41.5 points with the line currently at 38 points on BetMGM. Fields will have his moments, but ultimately Rodgers gets revenge against Gang Green and walks out of MetLife leading the Steelers to victory in Week 1.

Brian Marron

The pick: Steelers 20, Jets 10

Here’s why: With both teams breaking in new quarterbacks, this could be a sloppy game with not a lot of crisp offense. Unless Justin Fields can prove he’s made significant strides as a passer, it’s hard to see him creating enough to outduel Aaron Rodgers in his revenge game.

Chris Iseman

The pick: Steelers 27, Jets 13

Here’s why: There’s is absolutely no way Aaron Rodgers is going to allow himself to lose this game.

Bob Jordan

The pick: Steelers 21, Jets 14

Here’s why: The sample size on Justin Fields is large enough that the Jets know what they have – over 50 career NFL games, Fields has thrown for about 155.6 yards per game.

Dave Rivera

The pick: Steelers 24, Jets 20

Here’s why: Please don’t tell me there will be an Aaron Rodgers tribute video played before the game as he returns to MetLife Stadium. While the Jets may have moved on from the future Hall of Famer, the fact remains that he’s still better than any QB they have on the roster this season.
