Former New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne took two visits after being released by the Patriots last week. Bourne visited his former team, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Washington Commanders.

Bourne, a nine-year NFL veteran, has yet to set up a visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He will wait it out until next week to make a decision, however, giving the Steelers a chance to make a pitch if they would like to do that.

Over the last few years, Bourne has dealt with injuries. He suffered a torn ACL in 2023, and played in just eight and 12 games over the last two seasons respectively as a result of that major injury.

Despite that, Bourne has still managed to be productive in short spurts. He had 406 receiving yards in 2023 in just eight games, while amassing 305 yards in 12 games this past season.

Entering his age 30 season, Bourne has likely seen his better days, but profiles as a physical, big-bodied wide receiver. He would fit what Arthur Smith likes in his offense and could check off some depth boxes for the Steelers.

For now, the Steelers will go into Week 1 with five wide receivers who stood out in training camp, but they have continued to scour the market for upgrades throughout the summer.
