Handley High School 17-year-old senior

Sport: Football. Positions: Defensive tackle and offensive guard

Parents: Shwandra Biggs and Rodney Cozine

Hometown: Pensacola, Florida. (moved to Winchester five years ago)

What do you love about football?: How it’s always a challenge. There’s always something I can get better at.

Most memorable moment in football: My sophomore year, when we won seven games in a row. (Handley started 1-3, and the seventh win was the Judges’ first playoff win since 2010.) I gained a lot of new brothers and gained a lot of respect from people that were on that team.

Most embarrassing moment in football: It was in the Eastern View game last week. My feet got too wide on a play. I was blocking, and [a Cyclone player] ended up putting me on my butt. My coaches got after me a little bit. Basically just told me to get my technique right, and I’d be fine.

Most difficult moment in football: Preparing for the Sherando game of my junior year. I didn’t really get any reps in practice [before that game], because [the coaching staff] wanted to use other people who were more comfortable with the defense. [That situation] made me a different mindset person from last season to this season. Everything’s more urgent, and I’ve got to play every game like it’s my last, because I don’t know when that will come true.

Three people you can have dinner with, dead or alive: [Retired NFL defensive tackle] Aaron Donald; he’s always been my idol in the sport since I started really getting into football. My grandfather David; he’s just a person I look up to a lot. He’s a great role model to me. He sets a good example of how I should be. And Jesus; I’m a Christian, and I just have so many questions about why things are the way they are.

Biggest athletic influence: Aaron Donald. Just because of how hard he works.

Favorite teacher: [Daniel Morgan Middle School seventh-grade teacher] Mr. [Jamie] Lupton. He made his class fun even though I’m not the biggest fan of history.

Favorite athlete: Aaron Donald

Favorite team: Dallas Cowboys

Favorite movie: “Black Adam”

Favorite TV show: “Superstore”

Favorite song: “Headlines” by Drake

Favorite food: Chicken wings

Worst thing you’ve eaten: Fried pickles from this place in Pensacola when  was younger.

Plans after high school: I want to play football at Fairmont State, hopefully, and get my degree in exercise science. I want to work with athletes and give athletes the opportunities I didn’t have when I was growing up. For me, it was more trial and error with doing things to get better. I’ve visited Fairmont State two or three times, and it’s the school I like the most.
