Dalton Risner talks playing for Cincinnati Bengals
Dalton Risner met with media members Aug. 28.
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor announced that it will be Lucas Patrick starting at right guard for the team’s NFL Week 1 game against the AFC North rival Browns at Cleveland’s Huntington Bank Field.
Patrick injured his leg in July, and missed some of training camp.
The Bengals announced in March that they signed Patrick as an unrestricted free agent to a one-year deal.
Patrick, who turned 32 in July, has played guard and center during his eight NFL seasons. He played in 11 games during the 2024 season for the New Orleans Saints, starting 10 of them. He did not play in the Saints’ final two games of the season because of a knee injury.
Taylor indicated during an August 28 news conference at Paycor Stadium that the team had signed free-agent guard Dalton Risner, and added that Risner could play in the regular-season opener.
Taylor added Wednesday that he doesn’t put much stock in the depth chart, and that he’s confident that Risner will be ready if called upon Sunday or moving forward.
