Who’s wearing it now: RB Zamir White

The former fourth round pick out of Georgia is entering his fourth season with the Raiders. At the end of his second season in 2023, he was given his first shot to show what he could do. Josh Jacobs was injured after a disappointing season and White came in for him. In his four starts to finish off that season, he ran for 397 yards on 84 carries (4.7 yards per carry). The Raiders thought they had the heir apparent to Jacobs who was allowed to leave in free agency.

That didn’t quite happen as White would regress the following season and after just four starts averaging just over three yards per carry with no touchdowns, he was benched. This past offseason the team made Ashton Jeanty their pick at six overall and White will share backup duties with veteran Raheem Mostert.

Who wore it best: QB Daryle Lamonica

The Mad Bomber was acquired in trade with the Buffalo Bills and immediately led the Raiders to their first Super Bowl appearance. It was the first of eight seasons in Silver & Black for Lamonica. In that time, he twice led the league in touchdown passes, once led the league in interceptions, was twice named an All Pro, and made four Pro Bowls. The last two with Ken Stabler watching from the sideline, waiting his turn. In 1973, he passed the torch to Stabler.
