The Chicago Bears have released their first injury report of the 2025 season, and it includes an update on Jaylon Johnson.

The former All-Pro cornerback, who missed all of training camp with a groin injury, would have been a limited participant if the Bears had worked out Thursday at Halas Hall, according to the team.

Johnson is hoping to return to the field for the team’s season-opener against the Minnesota Vikings, but there are no guarantees he will even as the Bears prepare to face Justin Jefferson and company.

Running back Kyle Monangai, who suffered a hamstring injury during the preseason, was also estimated to be a limited participant in the workout, the team said.

There were three Bears players who would not have been on the practice field Thursday, including running back Roschon Johnson, who has been dealing with a foot ailment.

In his second season with the Bears, Johnson had six rushing touchdowns and 150 rushing yards for Chicago, but he’s been banged up throughout the preseason, and his status is in question for the opener.

Defensive back Josh Blackwell (groin) and linebacker TJ Edwards (hamstring) were also listed as being out of the hypothetical workout.

Finally, wide receiver Devin Duvernay, who’s been dealing with a hamstring issue, and defensive lineman Dominique Robinson, who’s battling an oblique injury, were listed as full participants.

The Bears will return to the practice field Friday, with two more workouts set before their Monday night opener against the Vikings at Soldier Field.
