With the possibility of the Bears becoming the 11th NFL team to have a dome or retractable roof still years away, fans attending Soldier Field still have to prep for Chicago weather.
The weather is naturally impossible to predict through the season this far out, but we can look at what the climate averages are for each game date as the team prepares for its eight-game home schedule.
Bear in mind (no pun intended) that this is not a forecast with the exception of Week 1, but rather a 30-year climate average for each of the eight dates on the team’s schedule.
Week 1 – Monday, September 8 @ 7:15pm: The Bears host the Vikings for MNF. The average high is 78° and average low is 60°. It’s looking like the weather in Chicago is going to be cooler than average Monday night with temperatures possibly falling into the 50s during the game.
Week 3 – Sunday, September 21 @ 3:25pm: Cowboys at Bears. Average high is 74° and the average low is 55°.
Week 6 – Sunday, October 19 @ Noon: Saints at Bears. Average high is 61° and the average low is 44°.
Week 9 – Sunday, November 9 @ Noon: Giants at Bears. The average high is only 52° and the average low is 37°.
Week 11 – Sunday, November 23 @ Noon: Steelers at Bears. The average high is 45° and the average low is 31°. Chicago averages it’s first snowfall in the middle of November.
Week 14 – Sunday, December 14 @ Noon: Browns at Bears. Average high is 37° and the average low is 25°.
Week 15 – Saturday, December 20 @TBD: Packers at Bears. Average high is 35° and the average low is 23°.
Week 17 – Sunday, January 4 @TBD: Lions at Bears. Average high is 32° and average low is 20°.
Snow hasn’t been much of a factor the past five years for the Bears. The average snow for November since 2020 is 1.3”, while the average snow for December is only 2.3”.
Obviously you’ll need to check in for the forecast as we get closer to each game, but hopefully this will give you an idea of what the weather is “typically” like later in the season.
