Delmar native and former University of Maryland football player Dante Trader Jr. has made the Miami Dolphins 53-man roster.
Trader was selected by Miami in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, as the Dolphins used the 155th pick to bring the Delmar native into their team. The Dolphins announced their 53-man roster a week ago following the end of their preseason.

Trader played high school football for two years at Delmar, where he won a state championship. Trader then transferred to the McDonogh School in Baltimore, where he finished his high school career. Trader was also a star lacrosse player, and was a dual-sport athlete in high school and college, playing both football and lacrosse.

A defensive back, Trader will wear No. 11 for the Dolphins this season.
Trader and the Miami Dolphins kick off their season on Sunday, Sept. 7, against the Colts, with the game set to be broadcast on CBS.
