Pope Leo XIV — AKA Robert Prevost — is a Chicago native.

So while there are Knicks fans excited for the Villanova alum to be in the Vatican and Chicago Cubs fans who are happy, there are a lot of people making the same joke and observation.

In their entire history, the Chicago Bears have NEVER, NOT ONCE had a 4,000-yard passer. Erik Kramer (3,838 yards in 1995) and Jay Cutler (3,812 in 2014) got close.

But Chicago now has more popes than the Bears have 4,000-yard passers. Wild. A lot of folks made that observation on Thursday when Pope Leo was announced:

Chicago got a pope before it got a QB to throw for 4,000 yards in a season.

The city of Chicago produced a Pope before it produced a quarterback who threw for 4,000 yards

Wild.
