The two teams will face off Sunday at Huntington Bank Field in the “Battle of Ohio.” On Friday, final preparations were being made at the stadium for the home opener.
This season, the Browns are allowing some of their fans to get closer to the players. Browns Director of Premium Sales & Service Austin Pavilack said it’s one of the many features in the renovated Servpro Field Club. The club sits adjacent to the visitor’s locker room and includes food, beverages and parking. It also gives fans the chance to feel like an NFL player when heading to their seats.
“When it comes time to watch the game, you’re legitimately walking out of the tunnel,” said Pavilack. “Looking up to 67,000 people. If you want to be as close to the action as you can get, this is where you want to be.”
Also inside the stadium are eight new tailgate trailers that offer food and entertainment before and during games.
“You can get here a few hours prior to kickoff,” Browns VP of Ticket Sales & Service Mike Judge said. “It’s a really good spot to hang out with your family, friends, company whatever it may be prior to the event and have the ability to come in and out during the game as well.”
The team is also celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Dawg Pound with a new Dawg House, a tribute to its diehard fans.
“This is an idea they came up with as a gift to Browns fans,” Cleveland Browns Manager of Partnership Activation Elena Chung said.
The Dawg House will open three hours prior to kickoff on game days. Fans can check out the house for free regardless of if they have a ticket to the game.
“We’ll have alumni here signing autographs for fans, mascot appearances, we have Madden on both sides of the house,” Chung said. “It’s a celebration of being a Browns fan but specifically an ode to the Dawg Pound.”
