The Kansas City Chiefs officially began the 2025 season internationally against their AFC West division rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers. The Brazil crowd was loud and brought the energy all night long as the NFL made history with the game being streamed live on YouTube for the first time.
The night started with the unwanted sight of wide receiver Xavier Worthy being forced out of the game with a shoulder injury on the first drive. The moment shook the team on offense for the first half as they managed only two field goals.

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce provided some fireworks in the second half, but the defense struggled to get stops. Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert carved up the secondary for an efficient night of over 300 yards passing.
Harrison Butker’s 59-yard emergency field goal was a high point, but his PAT miss tainted it in the second half. The Chiefs were severely hurt by too many penalties on both sides of the ball, spoiling their evening in Sao Paulo.

The legs of Mahomes were crucial in this game as he was forced to tuck the ball and run out of trouble often to convert first downs. He finished the game with 258 yards passing with a touchdown and 57 yards rushing for another touchdown, leading the team in that department.
