The Cincinnati Bengals were very obviously never sniffing around a trade for superstar pass-rusher Micah Parsons.

But post-Parsons trade reporting has looped in the Bengals casually to reinforce that idea.

The commentary comes from The Athletic’s Dianna Russini:

“As for everyone else? Potential suitors like the Vikings, Browns, Broncos, Texans, Bengals, Chiefs, Commanders, 49ers, Titans, and Rams never engaged. The timing, the haul, and the money were simply too much.”

So, for anyone wondering, the Bengals were 100 percent not looking at the Parsons saga, which led to his trade away from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers.

No wonder: The Packers coughed up two first-round picks and a stellar defensive lineman in Kenny Clark, then signed Parsons to a four-year deal worth $188 million. The Bengals were never going to be in those conversations.

Adding to this, the Bengals had their own pass-rusher drama to deal with this offseason with first-round pick Shemar Stewart’s holdout and the high-profile, almost annual standoff with All-Pro Trey Hendrickson, who reworked his contract with the team.
