The Minnesota Vikings had several injury concerns late in the preseason. They were thin at receiver, Christian Darrisaw’s Week 1 availability was in doubt, and the status of veteran defenders was unclear after Harrison Smith and Andrew Van Ginkel missed extended practice time.

On Friday, the Vikings released their second injury report of the week. Although the report was an estimate, as the Vikings replaced their regular practice with a walkthrough, several players made significant progress from Thursday.

Smith (illness) was limited, a good sign that he is making progress to play Monday after not practicing Thursday. Van Ginkel (neck) was a full participant again.

But perhaps the biggest development was Darrisaw (knee) being a full participant on Friday after not practicing on Thursday. Kevin O’Connell said Darrisaw would potentially be “ramped up” for the game as the week progressed, but it was great to see him get the full participant designation.

Jalen Nailor (hand) was a full participant for the second straight day. His status for Week 1 had been in question after he injured his hand during joint practices last month, but it appears he’ll be ready to play alongside Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson.

The final injury report will be released after Saturday’s practice.
