The Sylvania Rams traveled to Cullman County Friday night to open the region with the Holly Pond Broncos. A touchdown with 25 seconds left lifted Holly Pond over Sylvania 24-21. 

The Broncos scored first with a 79-yard touchdown run with 5:11 to go in the first quarter. Holly Pond missed the extra point. 

Sylvania answered with a 12-yard touchdown run from Seth Ledford to take a 7-6 lead. 

At halftime, Sylvania held a one-point lead at 7-6.

Holly Pond regained the lead with another 1-yard touchdown run from the quarterback. The Broncos missed the extra point. Holly Pond took a 12-7 lead with 2:23 left in the third quarter. 

Sylvania was unable to get the offense going to answer the Holly Pond score. 

The Broncos added to their lead with a 55-yard touchdown run with 22 seconds left in the third quarter. Holly Pond missed the extra point again to take an 18-7 lead. 

In the final quarter, Sylvania began to battle back. With 7:23, the Rams scored on a 19-yard touchdown run from Sammy Anderson to cut the Holly Pond lead to five, 18-13, after missing the extra point. 

With 1:49 left in the fourth quarter, Sylvania’s Ledford scored from eight yards out. Ledford added the two-point conversion to give the Rams a 21-18 lead. 

Holly Pond drove down the field, and with 25 seconds left in the game, the Broncos scored from eight yards out to take a 24-21 lead. 

Sylvania committed four turnovers in the game. 

Sylvania falls to 0-2 (0-1) on the season.Â
