Football is finally back. The Pittsburgh Steelers offseason has been wacky and wild and now we will see if it all worked as the team kicks off on Sunday against the New York Jets. As the season is about to start, we decided it was time to update our Steelers 2026 mock draft, going five rounds this time around. We will update this periodically as the season goes on, depending on how the season turns, but for now, the focus at the top is to replace potential veterans who won’t be back and then load up depth behind those picks.
First round – QB Garrett Nussmeier – LSU
Nussmeier went toe-to-toe with Clemson’s Cade Klubnik last week and really showcased the skills that could have earned him a first-round selection last year. Klubnik, LaNorris Sellers, and Fernando Mendoza are gone in this scenario; Nussmeier is the pick to replace Aaron Rodgers.

Second round – DT DeMonte Capehart – Clemson
We replaced Rodgers in the first round and now it’s Cam Heyward. This whole relationship feels like it’s falling apart, so there’s no time to waste in finding him a replacement, and Capehart is an excellent option with his size and length on the outside.
Third round – CB Tacario Davis – Washington
Davis took a step back last season after a huge 2023 campaign but we are counting on the move to Washington as an opportunity to put himself back into the mix as one of the top cornerbacks in the country.
Third round – WR DeAndre Moore Jr. – Texas
We love Moore’s elite speed and quickness as an addition to the offense but after something of a breakout 2024 in the slot, we want to see if he can do more.

Fourth round – IOL Iapani Laloulu – Oregon
Primarily a center, the massive Laloulu could see a position change to guard in the NFL.
Fifth round – OT Drew Azzopardi – Washington
Another excellent developmental player to give the Steelers some much-needed depth at offensive tackle.
