After a tight 38-31 loss in their first game against UNLV, Idaho State traveled to Eccles Coliseum to face Southern Utah. The Bengals threw the ball well, with Jordan Cooke completing 23 of his 45 attempts for 334 yards and a touchdown, but the run game was a major problem on both sides of the ball, as Southern Utah outgained the Bengals 323-23 on the ground.
The Lobos took on a tall task in their first game of the season, going to the Big House to face the No. 14-ranked Michigan Wolverines. New Mexico found themselves in a 17-0 hole midway through the second quarter, but fought back to trim the lead to 17-10 just before halftime. Ultimately, the Lobos would fall 34-17, in large part due to three interceptions from quarterback Jack Layne, who threw for 208 yards on 31 completions.
This is a great college football matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
