But for at least a day, the Kansas City Chiefs are lined up to get the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Of course, it won’t last. But after the Chiefs’ 27-21 defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday night in Brazil, that’s where they sit.

It’d be one of the most shocking developments in NFL history if this Chiefs team ended up with the worst record in the league.

Even after a tough loss, the Chiefs are still one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl.

Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid and Travis Kelce can combine to beat anyone.

The biggest concern for Kansas City right now is at wide receiver. Xavier Worthy got hurt on the third offensive snap. And they’re without Xavier Worthy through Week 6 due to suspension.

If the Chiefs can figure WR out, they’ll be just fine.

For those wondering, the Chiefs have picked No. 1 overall twice in their history.

In 1963, they took Buck Buchanan, and the defensive tackle made the Hall of Fame.

And in 2013, they took Eric Fisher.
