The Ravens and Bills are must-see television in any week, and the first Sunday night game of the year gives the perfect backdrop for the two top MVP candidates to jump out to an early lead.

There are storylines abound, with Super Bowl hopefuls, award candidates, two of the top running backs on the planet, and a measure of revenge for Mark Andrews. Buffalo eliminated Baltimore in the AFC divisional round last January.

For Lamar Jackson, it offers another high-profile matchup with Josh Allen and an opportunity to add to his already massive legacy. With kickoff fast approaching, we’re looking at who the NFL experts are picking on Sunday night.

Baltimore Sun – Ravens

Seven of the eight experts at the Baltimore Sun are picking the Ravens.

Upstate New York in September is a much different place than upstate New York in January. The Bills’ secondary is also banged up and the Ravens, simply put, have a more talented roster on both sides of the ball. Zooming in a little closer, there’s been a particular level of seething bubbling under the surface within Baltimore’s defense, which not only didn’t force any turnovers the last time these two met but barely breathed on quarterback Josh Allen. The Ravens’ offense, meanwhile, has been intentional about not being turnover-prone and likely won’t be in the rematch. Still, this one will have its share of theatrics and likely come down to the end.

USA Today -Ravens

Six of the experts at USA Today are picking Baltimore.

All five experts at NFL.com are picking Baltimore.

The reigning MVP’s 67.7 career regular-season passer rating against the Ravens is his worst among the 14 opponents he has face at least three times, per NFL Research. Matchups between league goliaths come down to the details, and Baltimore owns that slight edge despite what happened in January. This isn’t about the Ravens getting revenge for that playoff loss — it’s about them boasting perhaps the best roster in the NFL.
