The Jacksonville Jaguars announced a roster move prior to their Week 1 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
Elevated to the game day roster from the practice squad is offensive lineman Ricky Lee.
So what’s the reasoning behind this move?

Why did the Jaguars elevate OL Ricky Lee from the practice squad for Week 1?
Once it was official that Wyatt Milum was ruled out for Sunday’s game, it was expected that the Jaguars were going to elevate an offensive lineman–the question was, who?
Without Milum, that left Jacksonville with only eight available linemen on the 53-man roster, which is a low number to go into a game with.
Lee was signed to the Jaguars training camp roster in early August. He went undrafted in 2023 out of North Carolina A&T and has no regular-season snaps on offense in his short NFL career. In college, Lee played left tackle.

His role with the Jaguars on Sunday will be as offensive line depth and perhaps special teams help.
Teams can elevate up to two players from the practice squad on game days, so with only one offensive lineman added, maybe that’s a good sign that Cole Van Lanen, who is questionable, will be available.
