As of Friday afternoon, the Jacksonville Jaguars were finalizing the plans for what Travis Hunter’s playing time in Week 1 would look like.
On the eve of the team’s Week 1 opener against the Carolina Panthers, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported what Hunter’s playing time will look like.

According to Schefter, Hunter will be an “every down” wide receiver and a “situational” cornerback.
Throughout the summer, this felt like the most likely scenario for Hunter, at least early on.
While his snap count split between receiver and cornerback during training camp was almost equal, his time on task throughout the offseason favored wideout–the position that Liam Coen thought more refinement was needed.
We can also look at Hunter’s preseason debut, where he started with the offense and then was with the defense on the second and third possessions of the game.
Then, on the Jaguars‘ official depth chart, Hunter is listed as a starter at wide receive,r and he’s with the second unit at cornerback.
