The Chicago Bears wasted no time in getting down to business when the rookies arrived for mini camp on Thursday. The team announced they have signed five members of the 2025 draft class to their rookie contracts, including first-round tight end Colston Loveland. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Loveland’s contract is worth $26.64 million with a $16.10 million signing bonus.
Loveland, the No. 10 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, shined as a receiving threat for the Michigan Wolverines. The 21-year-old was an integral part of Michigan’s 2023/2024 National Championship squad, catching 45 passes for 649 yards and four touchdowns. Loveland followed that up with 56 receptions for 582 yards and five touchdowns in 2025 before missing time with a shoulder injury. He is the third tight end drafted in the first round in Bears history, joining Mike Ditka and Greg Olsen.

This is the earliest a Bears first-round pick has signed under general manager Ryan Poles. The last time the Bears had a first-round pick sign this early in the offseason was wide receiver Kevin White back in 2015.
In addition to Loveland, the Bears also signed fourth-round linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II, cornerback Zah Frazier, offensive lineman Luke Newman, and running back Kyle Monangai. The Bears’ remaining players that still need to sign are wide receiver Luther Burden III, offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo, and defensive tackle Shemar Turner, all of whom were selected in the second round.
