North Carolina coach Bill Belichick broke his silence on a recent report that he has banned New England Patriots scouts from attending the Tar Heels’ practices.
When asked about the report, Belichick confirmed that he has indeed banned Patriots scouts from team practices. He also offered up his reason why.

“It’s clear I’m not welcome around there at their facility. So they’re not welcome at ours. It’s pretty simple,” said Belichick.
The relationship between Belichick and Patriots owner Robert Kraft has devolved into new levels of pettiness. After Belichick was fired from the Patriots after 24 years, Kraft took heat for the team releasing “The Dynasty: New England Patriots” docuseries, which felt more like a hit piece on the former Patriots head coach.
Regardless, Belichick’s decision to ban scouts from any team only hurts his players in the end. It cuts off a potential avenue for them to get noticed by an NFL team.
One has to wonder if this move could potentially sway recruits in the future from signing with North Carolina. It’s another embarrassing situation for the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach that feels completely avoidable.
