Left tackle Andrew Thomas was the lone Giants player with a game status designation on the final injury report. He was listed as doubtful as he comes back from a 2024 season-ending foot injury. Thomas took team reps for the first time on Friday but said afterwards the biggest concern is the risk of re-injury as he works through managing the pain. He was limited on Wednesday and Friday and had a planned day off Thursday.
Meanwhile, wide receiver Malik Nabers appeared on Friday’s injury report with back tightness but is expected to be fine for the game.
The Giants also activated defensive lineman Elijah Garcia (standard elevation) from the practice squad. Garcia played in five games with three starts for the Giants last season, totaling 14 tackles (five solo), two tackles for loss, one quarterback hit and one fumble recovery. Prior to the Giants, the 6-foot-5, 302-pounder played two seasons with the Broncos and appeared in five games.
For the Commanders, defensive end Dorance Armstrong (knee), wide receiver Noah Brown (knee), cornerback Jonathan Jones (hamstring), kicker Matt Gay (illness) and quarterback Marcus Mariota (Achilles) missed some practice time this week but are expected to play.
Washington activated center Michael Deiter and wide receiver Chris Moore from the practice squad for Week 1.
