The Pittsburgh Steelers may have suffered a major blow to their secondary — as 2024 standout S DeShon Elliott suffered a knee injury on Sunday.

With 6:27 remaining in the second quarter, Elliott was injured following a gang of Steelers defenders attempting to tackle New York Jets RB Breece Hall. Elliott’s leg was twisted under him and he was initially helped up by the team staff. He was able to walk under his own power to the blue tent, where he’s since been deemed doubtful to return to Pittsburgh’s Week 1 matchup versus the Jets (update courtesy of ESPN’s Brooke Pryor).

Elliott signed with the Steelers in March 2024, where he quickly made a name for himself as one of Pittsburgh’s best run stoppers — a huge loss for the defense if he’s forced to miss significant time.
