The Bucs‘ offense did not come out of the gates the way they had hoped. They struggled to complete passes, they had some penalties, and the running game struggled to get much traction. As a result, the Atlanta Falcons came out to an early lead in their Week 1 matchup.

However, the offense couldn’t be stopped forever as Baker Mayfield and the passing attack proved. The first touchdown of the year would come through the air, and it would find rookie Emeka Egbuka, who secured his first NFL touchdown in the process. The former Buckeye was expected to play a significant role in the offense, with Chris Godwin and Jalen McMillan out.

Egbuka’s touchdown put the Bucs on top of the Falcons at the time with a score of 10-7.

Egbuka, in the first half, had a total of three targets with two receptions for 39 yards. Of course, one of those receptions was the touchdown. In the second half, Mayfield could look to carry the momentum he ended the first half with by getting the ball in the hands of his playmakers more, including Egbuka.
