NFL reporters are blasting the New York Giants for a “bush league” postgame move on Sunday evening.

The New York Giants opened the 2025 season on the road against the Washington Commanders. While the Giants’ defense showed some promise, the offense, led by veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, was downright awful. New York fell to Washington, 21-6. The Giants managed just 169 passing yards from Wilson, who signed with the team in free agency this offseason.

New York drafted former Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart high in the 2025 NFL Draft. There was talk that he could see some playing time on Sunday, though he remained on the sideline.

“We’ve asked the league for comment regarding the Giants’ refusal to let Dart and Winston comment. The media rules are clear. Usually, problems arise when players don’t want to cooperate. In this case, it’s the team that is keeping the players from complying,” Mike Florio wrote.

“We’re hiding NFL players now? Completely bush league if this is true. This isn’t college. They’re grown men and professional athletes,” veteran NFL reporter Charles Robinson added.

“This is a classic example of you shut down an interview to avoid distraction, but all you do is increase the distraction — now the topic is why won’t you let him talk,” one fan added.
