KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – While the Chiefs season opener wasn’t the outcome fans wanted, some Kansas Citians who traveled to the game are still grateful for their trip south of the equator.
Kelly Barker traveled to Brazil from Kansas City with a True Fan Travel group. The group started their adventure in Rio De Janeiro before going down the coast to São Paulo.

Barker said that one of the best parts of watching the Chiefs in a new country was sharing her love for football and learning the Brazilian way of life.

“Just being able to share the rules and the the stories about the Chiefs, of course they’re excited about Taylor and Travis” said Barker. “It’s been really a mix of learning from each other and we were just so excited to be a part of teaching the folks here about Kansas City, and our players and our coaches and and just football in general.”

One thing that stood out to Barker was the lack of football and baseball fields in Brazil, as football isn’t widely played in the country. She also made note that gear from almost every NFL team was worn at the game.
Overall, Barker said that the game’s atmosphere felt like one giant party! After all, what’s better than vacationing with the Chiefs?
