Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson had an altercation with a fan during Sunday’s loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Jackson connected with veteran receiver DeAndre Hopkins for a 29-yard touchdown late in the third quarter to give the Ravens a 34-19 lead.

As Hopkins and Jackson celebrated their touchdown near the stands behind the back of the end zone, a Bills fan reached out and shoved Hopkins on the helmet first, before shoving Jackson in the same manner.

Lamar Jackson reacted by shoving the Bills fan with two hands in the chest. You can check out the incident here.

While professional athletes are obviously not supposed to put their hands on fans, under no circumstances should a fan ever put their hands on a player, either.

According to The Athletic, the fan who shoved Jackson and Hopkins was ejected from the game.

There is no word yet on if Jackson will be punished by the NFL, but ESPN’s Mike Greenberg said Monday morning that he absolutely should not be.

“In the celebration you will see a fan making contact, to some degree, with DeAndre Hopkins. Lamar Jackson takes exception to it. If there are repercussions they should be for the fan,” Greenberg said on Get Up.

ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky agreed with Greenberg’s take.

As for Lamar Jackson, he said after the game that he regretted the shove but added that he will continue to celebrate near opposing fans following a touchdown.

“I forgot where I was a little bit,” Jackson said, per The Athletic. “You have to think in those situations. You have security out there; let security handle it, but I just let my emotions get the best of me. Hopefully, it doesn’t happen again. I learned from that.

“I’ve never seen our fans do that, so no, I’ll probably do it again when we score a touchdown, but it’s not nothing against the fans. I’m just celebrating when my teammates get a touchdown.”
