HOUSTON – The Texans drafted Iowa tight end Luke Lachey in the seventh round with their final pick of the draft.
Lachey is a big tight end at 6-foot-6, 251 pounds.
He’s a blocking tight end with solid hands. He has run the 40-yard dash in 4.86 seconds with a 35-inch vertical leap and a 10-foot broad jump.
Lachey caught 28 passes for 231 yards last season. He caught 10 passes for 131 yards two seasons ago. As a sophomore, he caught 28 passes for 398 yards and four touchdowns.
