Professional athletes are known to throw fits when walking into stadiums for game days — whether that means they’re dripped out in designer, serving realness … or a real show-stopping ensemble.
Linebacker Edgerrin Cooper’s get-up for the Green Bay Packers’ season opener at Lambeau Field would fall under that third camp as he continues to live up to the “Cowboy Coop” nickname.

Over his Canadian tuxedo — a denim button-down with a pair of jeans — Cooper sported tan leather chaps — fringed and studded, along with detailed designs around the hips — and a big golden belt buckle. The look was topped off with a black cowboy hat, shades, a cross chain, a cowhide-looking weekender bag and boots.
Cooper, who played college football at Texas A&M, is a cowboy of sorts. Some of Cooper’s friends had horses, growing up in Covington, Louisiana, Sports Illustrated reported in 2024. So, after Cooper got taken by the Pack as the 45th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and arrived in Green Bay, he bought a couple of his own horses, Frosty and Cinco. They make the occasional cameo on Coop’s Instagram Stories.
Coop was bringing wild-west energy to the Packers’ first game — and win — of the regular season against the Detroit Lions Sept. 7. He had 12 total tackles — eight solos and four assists.

Cooper couldn’t contain his excitement to have another cowboy — this one, with a capital “C” — join the team recently. That would be former Dallas Cowboys All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons, who the Packers recently acquired in a trade.
