NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — We are just about two years away from the Tennessee Titans’ first planned home game at the New Nissan Stadium. FOX 17 News has covered game-day parking changes amid construction for more than a year now and is diving into the plan for 2027 and beyond.
The Titans tell FOX 17 News there are 20,000 spots within a mile of the stadium. That is the current count, and future spots and lots will depend on what happens surrounding the stadium in the East Bank.
As we reported last week, the team states that there will be fewer spots available on site at the New Stadium than at the current stadium, which is due to the different leases. The Titans say the team leases the stadium and the surrounding lots in the “old lease.” For the “new lease,” the team will lease the new stadium and 100ft surrounding it, giving the rest of the space back to the city to be developed as part of the East Bank project. The first New Nissan neighbors are set to open up by late 2028.
Metro Nashville must provide at least 2,000 spots for stadium use on game days, according to team officials who say those will mostly be used for staff and vendors, but some could be used for fans.
The Titans also announced a partnership with WEGO to get fans to and from the stadium for free on game day this season. We asked WEGO if that will continue when the new stadium opens up, and a spokesperson tells us it has not yet been decided.
The pedestrian bridges and other transit options are also recommended by the team.
One business trying to make things easier is the Nashville Water Taxi. Owner Andrew Ostrowski and his crew drop fans off along the Cumberland River after they tailgate in a lot up the river away from the downtown congestion.
