Harrison BRyant is getting called up.
According to the Houston Texans’ transaction list, Bryant is being signed to the active roster ahead of Monday’s showdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In a corresponding move, the Texans are placing tight end Cade Stover on the injured reserve.
Acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles in a trade for wide receiver John Metchie III, Bryant, 27, could be a factor in the passing game behind Dalton Schultz. The 6-foot-5, 243-pound former John Mackey Award winner has caught 98 career passes for 877 yards and 10 touchdowns during his five NFL seasons. A former fourth-round pick by the Cleveland Browns, he spent last season with the Las Vegas Raiders.
A former John Mackey Award winner at Florida Atlantic, Bryanrt caught 149 career passes for 2,137 yards and 16 touchdowns.
“Seeing Harrison, he made some plays against us when he was with the Browns,” Texans coach DeMeoc Ryans following his arrival last month “He made a big play versus us. So you see a guy who’ve very capable of making plays. Very excited to just add him to our roster and let him get in our room. He can run well. He competes at the line of scrimmage.”
Kickoff against the Buccaneers is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on ABC.
