Dimukeje signed a one-year deal as a free agent with the Giants and now will miss time.
Former Arizona Cardinals linebacker Victor Dimukeje was getting an opportunity to prove himself with a new team. Now he is injured.
According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, Dimukeje suffered a torn pectoral muscle during the Giants’ offseason program and will miss some time.
This is a setback for Dimukeje, who signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract with the Giants after four seasons with the Cardinals. On a new team, he will not be able to participate in on-field work for OTAs and minicamp. We will ee whether he is ready for training camp at the end of July.
Dimukeje was expected to have a similar role for the Giants that he had in Arizona as outside linebacker depth while playing special teams. He has played over 200 special teams snaps every year he has been in the NFL.
